ICE TRAIN SETS
ICE - Inter City Express - is German high speed.
In 1985, the first ICE train set was built. This was called ICE-V (or IC-Experimental), and was used for the test run to develop ICE service.
In June 1991, ICE service was started. For this service, new train sets ware built. Those train sets are now called ICE1. 59 ICE1 train sets are operated in main lines such as the line between Hamburg and München or between Berlin and München. It connect to Switzerland and Austria, too.
To improve ICE network, DBAG built second generation of ICE train sets - ICE-2. The train set of ICE2 can be divided in two sets.
DBAG ordered new types of ICE train set - ICE-T and ICE3. ICE-T is a tilting trains, and is mainly operated in South Germany from May 1999.There are two tyupes of ICE-T - electric set and diesel set. ICE3 will enter into service in 2000. It can run at over 300km/h and go through to France, Belgium and so on.

ICE NETWORK

At first ICE ran only one Line 6. (Hamburg - Frankfurt - München. But then ICE network have been improved, and now ICE runs whole Gemany.
